Preferences Editors Scenario

This page was set up during the preparation of the Cloud4all Second Pilot Phase. The starting page for everything related to preferences editors is User Preferences UX.


  1. Prepare the machines - 2 Windows machines, 2 Linux machines, Android phone, simple phone (Java phone), Windows tablet: Setting Up Your Development Environment, setup ATs, desktop shortcuts (GPII-544)
  2. Launch PMT on platform A (Windows or Linux), modify settings for common terms (GPII-283)
  3. Save the settings to the preferences server and login (clicking the "save and apply" button)
  4. The PMT displays the new user token, facilitator manually creates a USB or RFID stick
  5. Log settings by clicking a desktop shortcut
  6. Two matchmaker paths:
    • RBMM path
      • 6a. Launch PCP on platform A (Windows or Linux) via button on PMT
      • 7a. Modify settings, save to the preferences server (via PCP)
      • 8a. Log out using PCP.
      • 9a. Use desktop shortcut to add "RB MM" statement to the NP set and re-upload to prefs server.
    • STBMM path
      • 6b. Manually change application specific settings
      • 7b. Use desktop shortcut to snapshot settings and save them to prefs server.
      • 8b. Log out using PMT.
      • 9b. Use desktop shortcut to add "ST MM" statement to the NP set and re-upload to prefs server.

10. Login to platform B (Windows or Linux or Android or Simple Phone or Windows tablet) using USB or RFID or QR code

11. Log settings by clicking a desktop shortcut

12. Manually modify AT and system settings

13. Log settings by clicking a desktop shortcut
