Blocking Bugs

The following list presents the problems that were found during the pre tests and need to be solved before moving to the actual testing mapped with the respective JIRAs and giving specific guidelines to the pilots facilitators if needed.

  1. Snapshot tool --> UNRESOLVED [Andy Stiegler to fix] GPII-706 (resolved), GPII-702, GPII-639 (resolved); see also GPII-771 (resolved) and GPII-842 (pull request merged; RPMs updated).
  2. The screen reader language was set to Greek, but it was not applied in NVDA.--> UNRESOLVED [KASPER to continue investigation] http://issues.gpii.net/browse/GPII-719
  3. The read caps was selected but it was not activated in NVDA. --> UNRESOLVED [KASPER to continue investigation]http://issues.gpii.net/browse/GPII-719

Critical Bugs

Critical bugs are issues that would be very good to get fixed, but which the pilot testing could theoretically run with them resent.

  1. Accessibility issues with NVDA and PMT --> UNRESOLVED [CHRIS P fixing the issue] http://issues.gpii.net/browse/GPII-717
  2. The cursor size is not working properly --> UNRESOLVED [Architecture team to update us on this] http://issues.gpii.net/browse/GPII-718
  3. Smallest magnification step in PMT is 50% instead of 25% --> UNRESOLVED [This should be fixed for the 3rd pilots iteration] JIRA GPII-733.

Solved and Known bugs (wont fix for pilots)

  1. The magnifier has a non predictable behavior --> SOLVED http://issues.gpii.net/browse/GPII-681
    • The facilitators should use AERO themes (else only the docked mode is working).
    • Full-screen mode and lens mode are only available as part of the Aero experience; even with Aero, full-screen mode does not work with high contrast.
      • As a fallback, lens mode can be activated and the lens size enlarged.
    • The docked left/right/bottom selection is not currently supported in windows, selecting "top" will only work if the previous setting of the magnifier was set to "top"
    • There should be no unsaved theme on the windows personalization panel
    • The magnifier should be preset to "invert colors" disabled and 25% zooming (these are found in the magnifier options)
  2. Low vision users CANNOT use neither the non-functional PMT nor the non-functional PCP.
  3. Solutions (NVDA, Magnifier, etc) are being killed a few seconds after logging in on Windows
    • Solution: Deactivate the RFID reader on windows, as it already has issues with the long tokens. The startup script has been updated to take care of this.Pilot sites should update to the latest version of the gpii_ctrl.bat script - found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByfE6R0ipKCjNklPN2VKZlpOTjg/edit?usp=sharing
    • Background information
    • Reason for bug: RFID user listener has USB functionality, so both USB listener and RFID listener tries to log in with the USB
    • Background information: the PMT generates user tokens as UUIDs, which for some reason aren't supported by the Windows RFID listener. As a result, we can't support RFID-based user testing. The idea was to use USB sticks instead, which we have now found causes conflicts if both the USB Listener and the RFID listener are running on Windows. Solution is simply not to run the old RFID Listener at all for these pilots.
  4. Cannot write an NFC card from Windows using GoToTags. (See JIRA ticket GPII-715.)
    • Solution: Kill the NFC listener of GPII, write the token and open it again.
The script gpii_ctrl.bat has been updated so GpiiUserListener110.exe is no longer launched when you start GPII. (See Kasper's mail from 21 May 2014.)
  5. Sometimes when we log out the system does not go back to the previous condition all the times (both Windows and Linux). (See http://issues.gpii.net/browse/GPII-720)
    • This is probably due to the unsaved themes. Pilots facilitators to check and delete possible unsaved themes created in the personalisation pannel in Windows.
  6. Punctuation marks' box becomes unusable after applying changes on the PMT. (See JIRA: GPII-695)
  7. Font size changes were not applied on Linux.

Details on the tasks realised during the Greek prepilots can be found in a spreadsheet on Google Drive.
