The language is set to Spanish Control of TV from phone. The phone itself has an adapted UI (see below). When video is playing, audio description is turned on. -- There is no need to implement this since the Cloud4all demo video we are using has audio description embedded. |
High contrast (white on black) Increased font size Control of TV from phone. The phone itself has an adapted UI (see below). |
The language is set to German
High contrast (black on yellow) Increased font size Simple voice control |
Captions automatically turned on |
The language is set to Spanish Simple voice control Control from phone (or a similar app on a person's communication aid or environmental control on their wheel chair if they use one) |
Simple voice control Control from phone Simple remote control with physical buttons also available for TV supporting button remapping - to be described in the deliverable document |
(Smart) phone |
The language is set to Spanish The smartphone provides access to the following:
The UI for blind people should be simple vertical list as it is hard to find things left or right. The language should be more verbose (e.g. "Change temperature instead of just "Temperature"). The arrow keys should simulate sliding up/down on a touch screen. The touchpad while holding a given key would scroll as if on your phone (low priority). The type of the element should be anounced (e.g. title, button, etc.) at the end of the element name. There should be separate volume up/down buttons as a slider is not usable. Common text should be moved at the back (e.g. Captions button instead of Button for captions - or better: "Captions: now on (button)". There should be a single label at the top ("TV settings"). Screen reading should be built in (via a TTS engine). |
High contrast (white on black) Increased font size Voice output Person can use the smartphone to control products in the house that have poor visibility or that require reading that is beyond their ability. With the smart phone they can have:

Haptic feedback [??] |
The language is set to Spanish Simple voice control Person can use a smartphone or a similar app on a person's communication aid or environmental control on their wheel chair if they use one) to control products in the house when they cannot use the physical controls on the devices. Buttons on bottom edge of screen can be used by people who cannot use the full touch screen. ALSO bluetooth enabled switches can be used to navigate the screen from head rest or other adapted switches (They function like the arrowkeys and enter key or can autoscan) [This is only described -- we don't have bluetooth link to phone on screen. but if they have them programmed to act like the arrow and enter keys-- then it would work since it would look to the program like a person was typing on those keys) |
Simple voice control Very simple version of control app appears for this person for this user. Additionaly, simple navigation with arrow keys is available. |
HVAC remote control |
Control of HVAC from phone - since labels are hard printed on the remote. The phone itself has an adapted UI (see above). |
