Concertation objectives

  • Remove barriers that prevent the development networks and interoperability;
  • Support new schemes to enable businesses, organisations and individuals to take advantage of the emerging technologies;
  • Support European policies;
  • Accelerate take-up by promoting awareness of possibilities and results among the collaborators;
  • Ensure dissemination among them.

In exchange, Cloud4all, in order to achieve a successful and fruitful synergy, will:

  • Participate in existing EU concertation activities (i.e. VUMs cluster).
  • Initiate new concertation with existing projects.
  • Invite them in all big events, national, European and international, organised during the project duration.
  • Try to align its dissemination activities with theirs, trying to organise if possible joint events.
  • Keep them up to date with all research and development progress in Cloud4All through press releases, newsletters, but even specific milestones delivery additional to that one intended for the general public, and if considered applicable and needed, will invite them selectively to technical and plenary meetings of the Consortium and organize dedicated workshops/clusters with them;
  • contribution to the Cloud4all/GPII research work;
  • If possible, seek for specific contributions;
  • Review with them its research roadmap and input to standardisation committees

Concertation activities plan

  1. To identify at least 3 new potential collaborators.
  2. Collaboration with the ETNA project, so the Solution Registry will import information on Assistive Technologies (AT) products from the different databases taking part in the ETNA project.
  3. Collaboration with VUMS cluster, so Cloud 4all will use the outcomes of the standardization activities (VUMs White Paper) and concepts of the abstract user models for the needs and preferences set.
  4. Collaboration with AmIVital, so Cloud4All will analyse how AmI devices and systems can be integrated in the research framework
  5. Collaboration with Fluid Project – and associated projects, to be inspired and implement the concepts the Fluid project tools for the user needs and preferences tool.
  6. Collaboration with openURC Alliance,  to harmonize and building bridges between the GPII and URC technologies.
  7. Collaboration with W3C Model-Based UI working group, to exchange of concepts, in particular on abstract user interfaces as a basis for adaptation.
  8. To monitor the Pan-European concertation meetings held by EU and participate to the relevant to Cloud4all.
  9. To kick of and maintain collaboration with SAB members, by creating an interactive action plan and organising annual SAB meetings
  10. To integrate recommendations of SAB members in the Cloud4all work

Concertation meeting

Meeting scope and target

Cloud4all organised two workshops and one special session in AAATE. One of the workshops organised was about concertation, in order to enhance collaboration activities and was entitled “A glimpse at the future: sharing the state of the art in accessibility”.

The scope of the concertation meeting was:

  • To verify the presented identified synergies.
  • To discuss issues raised (identified or not) in the context of these synergies (i.e. restrictions, problems, resources).
  • To define specific actions that will fulfill a minimum level of synergies between all projects represented.
  • To identify synergies that cannot be fulfilled and justify why (technical, economic, other reasons).
  • To come up, finally, with a specific roadmap to follow and present to the EC.

The target was to extract the following from each project:

  • Main objective
  • Specific aspects of the identified synergies
  • Discussed issues
  • Roadmap
