Cloud4all New Collaborator Requirements

We currently have about 15 partners and collaborators who are adapting their products or other products to work with Cloud4all/GPII. This essentially involves connecting a product to theCloud4all/GPII infrastructure. The allows a user to approach a device, and present an anonymous ID token, and have the application be automatically launched and configured to the users preferences/settings.

Current anonymous ID tokens include USB sticks, NFC tags (in rings, in cards, in key tags, on stickers), and a hotkey combination followed by a unique string typed on the keyboard. We are also exploring QR codes, facial recognition, and other methods. In each case a unique and non identifying string is passed to the device which sends it to the preferences server. The server looks up the preferences that are associated with that token that would apply for that device and then sends the preferences back to the device where they are applied. This can include launching applications as well as a configuring their settings. For extra security the token passed to the device and onto the server can change each time the user approaches the device.
